James is currently a PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge Engineering department. His main focus area is in the use of BIM design models within the operational and maintenance phase of an assets life-cycle. A key objective of his research is to develop a practical methodology that aids in the development of organisational and asset information requirements, that will support the adoption of BIM within asset management.

Before joining Cambridge, James worked as a BIM Manager within Costain and focused on the development of BIM processes for Crossrail contracts. Furthermore, James has also worked on major Highways projects within the North-West focused on the transfer of BIM related data into Highways England asset management system.
